Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the living room talking about many things.

The idea of a living will came up and I said to her:

"I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If I ever come to that just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the TV and threw out my beer.

living will is exactly that if you want to live even though you are in a vegetative state you need to express that. If not you should fill out the forms for a DNR which is a Do Not Resuscitate order stating you want no heroic measures to help save your life ie. ventilator, tubes, machines etc. That way if you are in a chronic vegetative state they will make you comfortable but not support your breathing etc. Any attorney or a hospital will have these documents. You should also make known in these documents and on your driver's license if you want to be a organ donor and what organs you wish to donate. Good Luck!!
