Exactly the same peppers can be bought from tesco where the mexican stuff is, Discovery is the brand, and should be available in other supermarkets too.

sainsbury all your large supermarkets and even local shops. its sounds like you don't shop that often, would you like a really quick recipe as you like jalapenos get the nachos empty in microwave plate then add any cooked pieces of chicken then cut up some tomatoes in small chunks, you can also buy jars of salsa and put dollops all over yummm, grater cheese allover oops forget the most important ingredient the jalapenos and if you still can't find them good old green chillies.put in microwave for minute and half or 2 and enjoy with a nice cool beer if your old enough.

No, but I once seeded 30-40 jalapenos in preparation for making chili for a contest--while not wearing gloves--thinking that jalapenos were not hot enough to cause an adverse reaction. How wrong I was. For the next 8 hours I was in absolute agony. It hurt terribly to even touch the steering wheel on my car. I tried a number of things to relieve my pain, all to no avail: yogurt, milk, ice water. I later discovered that the best way to reduce the pain is to soak one's hands in vegetable oil. This is because capsaicin--the chemical responsible for the heat in the peppers--is fat soluble.

I work in a pub, as a chef, a company called 3663 ( the numerical predictive text for 'food'....... clever huh?!) deliver them to us.
If you are friendly with your local pub, why don't you ask them to place an order for you? They have a long shelf life and are cheap when buying in bulk.... Give it a go, or mail me where you live and i'll order some for you!

I normally get them from a turkish grocery shop in Burnt Oak.
Not sliced though! You've got to slice them yourself.
