I have had a ganglion cyst on my right wrist since I was in the third grade. I want to get it surgically removed this week. Has anyone else experienced this, have they had the surgery - and what were the after effects? Would you reccomend for me to do so?

My wife had one removed from her back. No problems straight back home after.

This is a crude treatment but rather effective: take a large book like a dictionary or encylopedia and slam it on the back of your hand, right where the cyst is. This is what I was told to do. Beats going in for surgery

I have one too, Its been there forever. Try this web site. It has a ton of info, but form the sounds of it the surgery should be fine, beats the cure in the old days.. Way back when they would just hit the lump with a bible and break it!

My twelve yr old daughter had one of these a few weeks ago.The doctor said to just leave it alone and it did go away in a few weeks.

You should talk this over with your doctor and get the best info you can.

Good luck
