came upon this quote while reading and thought it was interesting; body and soul are definitely connected, but to what extent? are they inseparable or can the spiritual (or soulful) be drawn away from the physical- kind of like mind over matter?

or do you think it's somewhere in between? other thoughts? total bull? true? partly true, partly false?

thanks & good day, all.

Speaking from experience, body and soul can separate while we're alive. They're still connected, but one can lay still in the physical dimension, and the other can travel the spiritual dimension.

There is also a very strong connection between how you feel (your soul), and what your body will do. If you're stressed or depressed, it will affect your body. Women who want to get pregnant experience phantom pregnancies (body has all the symptoms, except the uterus is empty).
With practice, one can also heal oneself. So, maybe that's what the quote means.

The soul is part of the body. Chi, is what I call it. Summoned in breath it can either heal or poison what I touch. It can make my body light as a feather or heavy as a mountain. It can cure my sickness or disguise me as one of the dead.

To separate the two seems to me to be worse by far than death. I always hated vampires, succubus, and their ilk because they were no longer real because they had chosen either eternal life or the power to charm over having a soul.

Fortunately, they are imaginary if you have a soul and wield it against them. Whether it be by rationalizing that such a creature could not possibly exist, calling upon a religious Idol to protect you, or by knowing your duty is to destroy them so they can not harm or seduce other people. Their "immortal" bodies are like clay if you can grasp them even gently with your spirit.

This may sound crazy, but I hope that everyone understands... Humans are far more powerful than vampires, demons, and even angels. Without a doubt, FAR more powerful than any creature that gives up it's soul in a bargain for some useless desire.

Then again, this may only be question asked for fun and whimsy... if so than I ask why so many organized religions require that you give your soul to them? *laughs* I admit these religions all have a lot of power to protect their worshippers... interesting indeed that in each one of the greatest sin you can commit is to worship a "false idol."

Choose wisely.
