First layer should be polypropylene then the next layer should be wool the polypropylene will repel water away from your feet the wool will act like an insulator

the best thing that helps me was getting a "good" pair of insulated boots. I got a pair of montrail hiking boots with goretex. it was amazing how much warmer my feet were even when sitting on the deer stand all day. i wear thorlo socks with a very think pair of liner socks. layers probably help a bit too. i've never had luck with insulated rubber boots or the walmart specials.

I guess the answers you got the 1st time you asked this question weren't good enough, so here goes. Go to Dick's Sporting Goods, go to their footwear department, speak with the sales representative there about your dilema, they will have exactly what you're looking for, they have all sorts of different wool socks, battery operated heated socks, you may need to invest in another pair of boots in a slightly larger size to accomodate the thicker socks you'll be wearing.

2 pair of socks 1 cotton ones under wool the cotton soak up the sweat and helps keep your feet dry and you cant beat wool maybe your boots are to warm causing your feet to sweat when you walk and then when you set the moisture cause them to get real cold real fast

The 'poor boy' method is to cram a couple of those chemical hand warmers down in your boot. Works for a few hours.
