I am running out of excuses at work to say why I always have black eyes, bruises, sick days and the like. My cat is out of control with the drinking. When she adds catnip it gets much worse. I want to call the police, but I love her and don't want to see her in jail eating no name kibble. HELP!!

No point in sending her to jail, she'd just get through the bars. look in the phone book to see if there's an organization near you, that helps alcoholic cats. You won't find one, but it will take your mind off your injuries for a few hours. Try watering down the booze and giving her smaller glasses. Give her a door key of her own if she goes out for a night on the tiles. She won't be able to see to put the key in the door and will fall asleep drunk and exhausted on the door step, leaving you to have a good night's sleep and no beating. If nothing works, you have to realize that you'd be better off without her. Meanwhile, get the vet in to sort her out. You don't want the extra worry of kittens with their mother's genes. Good luck and be strong. (Great question, kept me amused !)

What ever you do, leave the police out of it. I too had a similar problem. With the difference that mine was a possessive, two time self serving selfish gold fish. who turned out to have a drug dependency problem. Yup! It was a crack-head indeed. I tried everything in the book to help it with its problem. and why wouldn't I, after all, i had spent 150 dollars at the city fair just trying to get it, and i also had promised i would take good care of it,
To make a longer answer long, I made the terrible mistake of calling the authorities, which in turn, not only did they call social services, whom took it away, never to hear from it again. but they also called a mental institution. I am getting released tomorrow, or so they've been telling me every day since 5 yrs ago. i hope things go better for you with your drunken cat, than they did to me with my crack head fish

Hold some sort of intervention for your cat. Maybe lie to her and tell you have some tuna fish and salmon in the next room, and she should go check it out. Then her litter siblings and friends can talk to her about her drunken violence. Make sure you start all sentences with "I feel".

Your cat? You mean your wife? If she is abusing you then there's probably something wrong with your relationship. I'd say go to a therapist about it, asap. If it's your cat...I don't know what to say

Maybe you could send your cat to therapy.
Try explaining to her that if she doesn't start behaving she will go to jail and not get to have any good food.
