An FCC license and a transmitter....the more powerful the better. You will also need the studio equipment to connect to your TXR.

If you're just talking about transmitting for fun here's a website with a simple schematic. It will only broadcast in mono, and is low power so no liscense is needed

a microphone, audio mixer, cd players or music player software and an FM transmitter. or be a pirate
