Do you maybe have a clue to why you're bird is vocal? Maybe your bird is looking for more attention and makes noise to get your attention. Your bird might also just be excited if you keep it in a heavily trafficed area or an area that has a lot of noises near or around it such as a tv or stereo, and might just be voicing it's excitement. Try moving your bird into a less trafficed, quieter area and if it still is very vocal you can try covering your birds cage with a sheet. When doing this, especailly during the day, I would suggest just trying to cover the majority of the cage and leaving the front open so that your birds sleeping patterns are not affected. It can also make a bird ill if it does not get enough light. They tend to become depressed and might start pulling out it's feathers or losing it's feathers from stress. Also when most birds are happy they tend to sing so it's a good thing that your bird is vocal. Another approach would be to give your bird treats so that it's attention is turned to the treat and not making so much noise. Good luck and hopefully this works for you.

Sounds like your bird is wanting attention.. do you take it out of the cage and hold it? is it in the evening and wanting to go to sleep.. but the tv or something else.. is keeping the bird from sleeping?
Maybe by removing the bird from the heavy noise area at night will help keep the bird calm.. spending time with it will help too..
As suggested.. you can put a blankent over the cage.
go to the site below and you can find more help there as well..
good luck!!

Do you have a love bird? My love birds have been very loud and annoying in the past!!!
Sometimes they shut up if you cover up their cage with a blanket. This worked for both of the love birds I have owned but not for my parrotlet.
If that doesn't work, I usually move the cage to a room that is both away from me and away from whatever is bothering them. My lovebird hates it when I practice the piano.

They shoot birds, don't they? (Nope, sorry. That was horses. That they shoot. Old movie.) Well I have a cockatiel that will just not shut up when I am not paying attention to it. I bought some duct tape, oops, no. Sorry, other pet.
Anyway, the bird will shut up if, as others have suggested, it is in a quiter room with a cage cover on it. I will throw in a piece of fresh veg or fruit as a bribe. Otherwise, I pay as much attention to my bird as my ex-wife. It's cheaper!

The first thing I would try is to keep the bird in a quiet room, not a room that receives all the foot traffic and tv and stereo noise, etc. A home office would be ideal if you have one. If that doesn't work, I would also try the towel or blanket for a few minutes to calm them down.

I have a ring-neck Parrot and I put a towel over his cage, every night at the same time. It helped to get him in a routine of my way of letting him know it was bedtime. If he makes a lot of noise in the daytime,I know he wants to watch TV.I also know that most birds don't like a lot of noise when they are ready for bed,And this too will cause them to squawk a lot..Then again I have two cocktails that are the opposite..They love a lot of noise..especially music..Go figure.

Well it sounds like the bird is very happy being your bird. You can always set it outside in the cage for some fresh air or in another room where you wont be so BOTHERED by it the poor baby.
I suggest you find it another home for it, where it can be appreciated for who it is and the song it sings to express it's own heart's love.

What u can do is pay mind to it when it is quiet and when it starts to squeaks again just put a towel over and walk away. If u do this more often he/she is going to realize that it does not get your attention by sceaming.

well i guess u have a lovebird they are loud lil birds but if u shout at them then they will try to compete with u and yell louder so dont just go up to the bird and in a deep serious voice tell it NO !! and if it continues then repeat urslef soon it will understand that yelling makes you mad and if he stops reward him for it and talk to it softly and sweet
