Yes, its disturbing to me, but not for the same reasons. I feel sadness for everyone involved. The murderer, the murdered, and the families and friends of all of them. This is a tragedy for everyone involved. I am also concerned about you. If you have thoughts like this, and are aware that they are dangerous, please get help, now, before you do something impulsive that will destroy many lives. I don't want you to be part of another tragedy. Do you know where to get help? If you want more information please feel free to e-mail me, and I can give you resources if you are in the US. Don't wait. You are miserable now, living in fear of what you might do. Don't let it get any worse. I'll be thinking of you. Take care.

What is disturbing is the fact that this guy was released after beating a young girl with a hammer. He should have gotten life then.
Even more disturbing is the idea that he is now locked up for life instead of being executed.
Most of society feels homicidal anger at times over different things. Most of society controls its anger an dosen't act on it. Neither anger or mental problems are an excuse for murder. Nothing excuses the murder of women or young children. Even other inmates in prisons try to kill baby killers

Perhaps the most disturbing part of it is that it made it on the news. Some stories shouldn't be turned into a spectacle for advertising sales. They just increase the level of paranoia and fear in the general public, when the actual event happens extremely rarely on the per capita scale.
You need to see more stories about good things and how people who have had problems have controlled them, but those stories won't be on the news. I recommend very strongly that you get rid of your TV and start living as though it never existed. The TV isn't a source of information, it is a marketing tool that pries open your life and inserts a bunch of crap you don't need.
Set up your computer to get news from sources which don't push your anger and fear buttons. You are probably not so likely to commit bad things as your psychiatrists and drug salesmen would like you to believe.
The school stories really disturb me, because I know they can be prevented if we just face up to the fact that our schools are not designed for people, but for animals and robots to be trained and to learn to conform to a 'norm' which never existed.

These stories always disturb me too, because I feel for the familes of the victims. The guy who did this should not be out on the streets where he can harm others. Your question sounds like a cry for help also. I hope you are on the proper medicaiton and treatments and continue to take steps to get well. If these stories make you want to do anything to harm others, you need to let your psychiatrist know this. Stop the behavior before it happens. Good luck to you. Be careful.

Of course. Don't worry. If you feel empathy and horror and fear of what some people are capable of, you wouldn't do it yourself.
the key is to keep being absolutely mortified by it.
It's the insesitive ones who couldn't give two craps about a story like that that you have to watch out for.
You are horrified like most of us are normally by this terrible occurance.--we live in an evil wild, wicked world at times..
If you ever think about hurting yourself or someone else, you need to take a step back, count to ten, then call someone and talk it over...
You know what's right. Don't worry so much.

I think the fact that you were disturbed by this shows that you have a greater level of awareness than that guy did. I don't think at any point he would have questioned anything that he did, or how he felt. Speak to a doctor if you are really worried, but don't let stories like that worry you too much.

Yes... Very disturbing. But if you're afraid that you're too possessive, and can't take rejection, maybe you could talk to someone about it? I'm sure you do, but every bit of information you can get helps.

Of course it disturbs me. I hope they shank him while he's in prison and he dies a painful death from the dirty, nasty, infected shank.
No one likes to be rejected....but no one should be possessive, either. And there are THOUGHTS and then there are actions. Don't act on your thoughts.
