Steroid base creams are only good for temporary relief however prolong use will have side effects that you wish you never have use it in the first place.
My two kids have eczema and most of the time especially my son, is severe, that it effect his sleeping patterns due to the itch and scratching.
Worried about the side effects of steroid base creams will cause, we decided to try Liquid Zeolite of Natural Cellular Defense for short NCD. Within few day of trying out the result is obvious significant to both of them. I'm using it too due to psoriasis and gout like symptom and I can tell you first hand, It's wonderfull. Even their nanny was surprise of the result she notice until she question me what have I done to both of them?
Now I don't care what they eat, since last time I use to restrict them eating certain group of food like cows milk base, seafood and poultry. If you want more info Liquid Zeolite, email me at bertolisw@yahoo.com because i don't want to be misunderstood of spam&advert.

Your doctor will prescribe hydrcortizon cream a steroid to put on the exema. It will control the eruptions but the exema will come back when you stop using it. Some people get relief from using tea tree oil availabe from health food shops. The best natural control for exema is sunshine which clears it up temporarily. The exema cannot be gotten rid of but some foods make it worse. Search Web Md and see that else you can find out.
