We're replacing baseboards in older home (built 1941) now that the hardwood floors have been refinished (very pretty!). We need the boards to be about an inch thick (to cover the varying lengths in the edges of the floor), taller (5", at least), and in the darker wood tones to match the wood floors. Do baseboards like this exist? Would we be better off buying and staining our own lumber to make sure we got what we needed?

it's easier to stain your own...
that way, you can take the color in, and they can match it. if it isn't quite what you want, then stain, and varnish it how you want them to look....

Given those dimensions, yes, it is pretty safe to say that you will either have to make your own, or have a mill shop make them for you. At least, the dimensions you speak of [1x5] come out to finished lumbet [1x6] which is 3/4 inch thick inches and 51/2 wide.m Get lumber of the same species as your floor lumber and stain it to match. If it isn't wide enough, add a piece of quarter round to the base. It will still look ok and give it a different profile. And it is an easy project.

I would get a trim that matches yours the best and stain to match. Go slow in picking the color. Some paint shops can do a computer stain match.

You may have to combine a couple of moldings to get the effect you want or go to a local carpentry supply and see if they can fabircate a match.

It is MUCH more expensive to buy the molding pre-stained. It is time consuming to do it the other way, but seriously, the cost is a realy issue for this one. Besides, it would be difficult to match it without doing it yourself.

i think of dark pores and skin is dazzling! i'm no longer in basic terms asserting that. i'm very diminished, and don't intend on going to an risky tanning sales area each time quickly. That reported, i admire darker pores and skin. i think of we are born with what we are born with. I had commented on a youtube video of Tyra and a type who became asserting how she by no potential felt fantastically with the aid of fact she became dark. I observed in my remark that being white, even nonetheless idealized via society over the years, isn't something to be valued anymore. Or, a minimum of, it won't be valued anymore. pores and skin colour would be unable to outline a individual. I observed the way it sucks that we get moles, sunlight burns (vivid purple tomato pores and skin( that peels), and turn purple from workout. i think of there are eye-catching women persons in each ethnic team, and as i had reported according to Tyra's video, "the victorian era is over, so why are we nonetheless captivated with diminished pores and skin." My factor is which you're proper in basic terms the type you're. that's like the blonde vs. brunette debate. There are blondes with prettier faces/ brunettes/ purple heads/ black hair...and so on. finally, in basic terms a added remark...my sister's maximum suitable pal has dazzling brown pores and skin, and appears like a type. i think of that's a shame that there are maximum of persons who choose consistent with pores and skin colour whilst that's the type of trivial subject remember.

You buy stain-grade baseboard trim molding, and stain it whatever color you desire.
