I feel your pain... literally. I get the worst migraines. They started when I was in 5th grade, but they went away until i got into high school and were about 5x as intense.
When I get a migraine I can't move. It really messes with my brain and I can't remember simple things like my home phone number or how to get house from school. I need complete silence and darkness. I usually spend the day lying on the cold bathroom floor (the cool tiles feel good on my hot head plus I usually spend most of the day throwing up, so it's pretty convenient). When I started having migraines that lasted for 3 or more days they made me get a CT scan. It didn't show anything, and they still haven't found a medicine that works for me.
So sorry, I can't really offer any advice on how to make your migraines better, because I'm still having that problem myself. Well, I guess the best advice I can give is to talk to your doctor about different medicine's you could be taking. Once you find the right medicine, you can control your migraines and your life will get back to normal. At least, thats what I keep telling myself....

I have suffered from migraines given that I used to be 10 years historic-I am now 50 so I have had forty years enjoy. I do realize somewhat approximately them. First, you'll be able to have a migraine at any time. There is not any set sample-I have long gone months or even years with no need a unmarried migraine. There are many migraine triggers. Hormones play a large facet. That is why females endure from migraines three occasions greater than guys. A week earlier than your interval is the worst time. I observed that beginning manipulate capsules helped me. Also, sinus disorders and allergy symptoms as good as scorching climate can cause migraines. Certain meals may also be a cause-chocolate and sugar are the quantity a million offenders. Cheese too can do it. Watch your pressure degree too. Ask your Doctor approximately the triptan medications reminiscent of imitrex and maxalt. These are very potent-they're pricey even though. I have observed that two steady excedrin works beautiful well typically-the trick is to take treatment earlier than your headache will get to unhealthy. Good good fortune.

I started getting bad headaches when I was about 3 and full-blown migraines when I was about 7 or 8. They got really bad in my teens and by my 20's I started getting the migraines that lasted for weeks at a time. When I hit my 30's, I finally went to a neurologist who put me on Topamax. That stuff really works, but you have to be on the correct dosage and give yourself time to adapt. If you aren't on the correct dosage, you will just feel worse. When I first started, I wasn't taking enough and I ended up feeling worse. Now that I am at a higher dose, I feel great. Try the Topamax again and give it time to work. Also, make sure that you stay hydrated. People look at me like I'm nuts because I always drag around a big bottle of water, but drinking lots of water helps my headaches.

I've suffered with migraines for years. I have learned to stay away form triggers such as red wines, red meats, cheese, nuts, heavy perfumes, and so on.
You can ask your doctor to prescribe something else for you like Inderal. It is used to prevent migraines. There are a lot of new migraine medicines out there today and a lot of them work. They are expensive though. Imitrex is one of them. Be warned, not everything works for everybody.
Have you tried applying ice to your head? Maybe one of the reasons you are getting these headaches is because of your high blood pressure.
Keeping yourself hydrated helps. So does taking magnesium.
If you think you've tried everything and nothing is helping, then maybe you ought to see a neurologist.

Hope you feel better.

I used to have them in the worse way. Blinding, sickening pain. I couldn't even drive my car to the emergency room for help. Imitrex helped relieve the pain, but the cardiac side effects made me uncomfortable. Topamax didn't do the trick for me.
I saw my gyne due to irregular periods and she reffered me to an Endocrinologist. My headaches were do to hormonal imbalance. Treatment for the imbalance and no more headaches. Follow up with an MD.
Try inhaling lavender oil, and massaging it in around your temples and hairline. Also a cool cpmpress with lavender oil is nice.

I used to get migraines alot and I still get one once in awhile. Mine knock me out so that the only thing I can do is go to sleep. When my son was a baby that wasn't an option. Believe it or not eating ginger snaps helped.

Migraines are so frustrating because we really don't know why they occur. Unfortunately, caffeine can really help because it constricts blood vessels that become dialated during a migraine. Make sure you are really well hydrated. I don't know the drug you were on but if it DID have caffeine it would have dehydrated you. It's got pros and cons.
