it is sad that all religions think they are right and have the "truth"? That all other religions are false but their own? Obviously everyone can't be right. I think all religions should extinquish the "elitist" and the "I told you so" mentality. This to me just proves they are not real Christians. What do you think?

Well not all religious people are Christians. I don't think any religion has that whole truth but together we can get much closer to it. I don't claim any religion because I've found many truths in many different religions. Once you label yourself as one specific religion you hold yourself apart from others.

I agree!!!!!! Especially the part about not being christian like. I feel that religion is like language we are all speaking but speak in different languages either because we were taught that way or we choose the language we are most comfortable speaking. I think religion is the same, no matter what religion you choose you are just expressing your feelings for a higher being. And you choose a religion either because that is what your taught or what your are comfortable doing but it is all the same.

Krishna says in the Gita "Whenever there is a decline in religious principals and the truth appears to be lost, I appear again and again or send my representative to reestablish the truth." It is because originally they are truth but over time the message get misconstrued by evil men who want to fulfill their own purpose. So God has to send another and another. The most recent sent is Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He does not say change your religion but change your consciousness. Krishna consciousness is not religion, bu tsanatan dharma or the eternal occupation of the soul.. One can remain in whatever religion an practice the universal understandings of God. go to www.stephen-knapp.com for universal thruth

I think your right but it will never happen. That is some serious reason you are using and there is no place for that in religion except maybe Buddhism they are nice people. Such a noble idea yet so unrealistic. How sad. Good question.

Yes! My thoughts exactly........ religion is the root of war! It is sad...... but there again if you have confidence in your relationship with the power that you have faith in then it shall provail when you need it too......... religion is robotic; and being human requires flexibility. That's a deep subject, I think I put across what I needed to say.

Real Christians are, perhaps unfortunately, by their nature exclusivist - in they're belief in one true God and Jesus being the only way to him... that, in itself, could be seen as sad, but is just the way they are. People who don't hold these questionable beliefs shouldn't be afraid of being seen as "not real Christians" and neither should they brand others with this exclusivist term.

Everyone has their own belief right or wrong, and it takes a spiritually mature Christian not to take offense at the insults toward their belief. Be kind and courteous and let it go at that.

I agree. But I wonder - if they adopted that stance, wouldn't that make them wishy washy? Would they be like "well, we're pretty sure that if you follow this path, you'll get to heaven. We could be wrong; someone else might have the right answer, but let's just try it anyway, shall we?"
I'm probably wrong. I just felt all devil's advocateish.
