Evrybody tries to justify that which they want, to have their way without guilt or remorse, it is a basic psychological mechanism of defense and adpatation. This is the origin of using moral relativism to justify all behaviours. But not just because everybody believes something to be "o.k." means that it actually is. Ethically and morally Prostitution is not only inmoral but actyually demeaning of human and personal dignity. And I agree with the asker that is always a choice. there is no human activity that is not asocisated with a choice. A prostitute allows a stranger to make use of her body, to penetrate her for a pay, and this is morally wrong. No matter what color you paint it, still is wrong.

The touchstone in solving any moral dispute is actually the "de iure, de facto" distinction. Techinically it means that something regarded to be "de facto" permissible or morally acceptable does not necesarily correspond to its "de iure" status.

prostitution would not must be slavery and all those issues you assert. probable some crackheads yet you know. babies and violence, it incredibly is not prostitution, in actuality it is probable the effect of unregulated prostitution. In open 'parlors' people who opt to artwork there could do so, Nevada and amsterdam so i hear the two have criminal stuff, no slaves or abusive pimps. 2 distinctive crimes you're conversing approximately. we don't have a slave commerce interior the U. S.. babies can no longer artwork in strip golf equipment, effective some 17 year previous alongside the way have been given a pretend id, have been given on genuine a table. hell, have been given 20 greenbacks for some weed with little.... entire community between acquaintances action. it is our loopy subculture some people be havin intercourse for much less each and every from time to time. women who % to do it probable have thier very own problems yet hell i might do it if there replaced right into a marketplace for thin white adult men.

Generally those who justify prostitution are men.
It is not a victimless crime. Most of the prostitutes are victims.
The "johns" should be arrested. The pimps should also arrested and have the key thrown away.
The prostitutes should be put in rehab, with compulsory counselling. Those who admit to being forced to prostitute themselves and who are afraid could be moved to another part of the country. There are surely organizations that would be willing to help out in the rehabilitation.

It's a victimless "crime". I wouldn't WANT it for my child but I also don't think it should be illegal.

As for the "it's a choice / not a choice" thing... think of it as a "last resort". Every other resource is tapped out and selling sex at least buys a loaf of bread.

Of course we've heard of STD's. STD's are spread just as easily through sex that people DON'T pay for and no one tries to make THAT illegal. I think it WOULD be a good idea to make quarterly check-ups mandatory if prostitution is ever legalized to try to combat the spread of STD's. Anyone with a incurable communicable STD should be retired and anyone with a curable one should be benched until it's had time to heal and clear.

Sex makes people feel good and having sex is quite legal. Selling it may irk you "morally" but the law isn't in the business of legislating based on morality ALONE.

So many people? I don't here many people justifying it. Where do you hang out? Oh, the internet? No wonder you're getting a lot of screwed up opinions.

Maybe they're trying to justify it in YOUR case so you might actually get some. Spending less time on the internet might also help with that problem.

Probably because they sometimes call them 'working girls'...who knows....................If prostitution becomes a true career then they would qualify for benefits, including withholding taxes,um...........how would this effect unemployment benefits?
This type of 'work' has been around for centuries so I wouldn't really about my son or daughter thinking it's OK to select this occupation as a career.

generally Women and Children are forced into prostitution by abject poverty and unfair regimes in the world, prostitution is the sickness not them, however in the case of those who prostitute themselves for easy money the same cannot be said of them.

I've heard people demanding of legalization of all kinds of drugs as well!!
i guess that's the price a society has to pay for absolute freedom and absence of religion principles.

Prostitution does exist, has existed and will exist in the future. Whether it is OK, justified or the worse thing in the Universe, it will continue to exist.

Since you ask...
If you legalize it, you can enforce legal measures and limits on it, and tax it. If your child is interested in going to see a prostitute or wants to be a prostitute, it is not the prostitute's fault. Do you blame beer manufacturers for DUI's?
