America: More hands-on, but less serious and intense. Rules exist, but usually aren't enforced unless the guilty person begins to get out of hand. Due to some "advancements" in the educational system, all grade levels are put in the same class to help put everyone "on the same level". (That is seriously debatable, of course.)
Japan: A lot of the class time is comprised of lectures which gives school a somewhat grave feeling to it. The kids take very difficult exams to be able to attend their school-of-choice. The more famous of school you get accepted into, the better it is that you will have a "good" future. This is particuliarly serious when it comes time to enter college and those that fail sometimes willingly stay back just to have another attempt at a "better" future.
Compared to Japan, American schools are pretty laid-back and easy. However, it's been said that Japanese university is less as serious as it is in America.

Hi, In what means do you suppose that Japanese are appearing like Europeans ? And in what means are the Koreans appearing American ? I am a European myself, and from my private enjoy and remark, i suppose that, Koreans are desperately attempting to behave like Japanese. As for the Japanese, the one different nation i will be able to suppose of, that act in a similar fashion might be Britain. Both Japanese and British humans percentage plenty of stubbornness, country wide delight, and despite the fact that British humans are way more open and immediate to difference, each hate and can't receive any criticisms. Hope that is helping.
