We broke up in July, and now his other friends are mad at him because they say he doesn't spend enough time with them. They think we're still together, even though we're not, because we spend so much time together. Why can't we just be friends? We have no romantic feelings towards each other anymore, and think of each other more as brother and sister. Nobody seems to understand though...

The best way to get your friends over the fact that you're not a couple is to get out there and see other people, and be SEEN with other people, for that matter!

If you're interested in being with someone else eventually, then you're obviously sending the wrong message to a potential new boyfriend by being with your ex all of the time. And that's not fair to girls that might be interested in him either.

It's okay to be friends, but spend a little more time apart and see how you really feel about each other. good luck!

you cant just hang out and have them accept because you used to be a couple. now you're still acouple but without romance. some people get married to do that, you guys broke up. also, if he is blowing off friends to hang with you, he may still be into the idea of more. for that matter, maybe you are too?

You can only speak for your own feelings. He may be telling you he's not interested but on some level I think he is. Guys typically don't blow off their guy friends for a girl they dated who's a friend. This is unusual behavior and that is why his friends think there's something else going on.
