God views marriage to be a covenant relationship.
The marriage vows arent in the bible, the bible speaks of what is required for marriage. One example, there are several, Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Marriage partners are just that. They are "partners," not property. As "one flesh," they are members one of another, "bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh." Because of this intimate relationship, "so ought men to love their wives as their own bodies" (Eph. 5:28).

I don't think that the traditional vows are actually located in the Bible, but here are some verses about marriage and husbands and wives.

Ephesians 5
1 Peter 3

The marriage vows are not in the Bible. The Bible merely refers to "two becoming as one." Marriage is the only sacrament that came from society, not the Church. The marriage ceremony came from Roman culture and affixed itself to Christianity when it moved from Palestine to the Roman Empire.

They aren't in the Bible they are customs of the cultures... the reference that you are looking for though is something like this... for this cause a man shall leave his father and mother and cleave unto his wife... Gen. 2.24
