Buddists dont worship any God
they follow the teachings of Buddah ... it is a philosophy
my own religion ( spiritualism ) doesnt have the worship/obey thing ... i feel that the emphasis is on seeing God as a part of us
and when i pray i pray to a friend , an ear to listen

All religion has one thing in common. None can save us from our sins. Only Jesus saves. There are many different denominations, religious movements, cults and isms of all kinds. God did not send them they are not speaking His word but still they accept the teachings of men rather than the teachings of the Bible.
True Christians have a common fellowship around the truth because it is written, "My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me." John 10:27 Jesus says that His sheep will follow Him, will follow the truth John 14:6, and they will not follow a stranger speaking contrary to the truth. It is written, "The Lord will direct them into all truth and in all things." John 14:26,1 John 2:27, Proverbs3:5-6

"pops" provided a great little site. I enjoyed looking through it. But to address the "obeying" or "worshiping" aspect of most religions, I'd like to quote from Joseph Campbell, a mythological academic.
"What you're learning in myth is about yourself as part of the being of the world. If it talks not about you, finally, but about something out there, then it's short. There's that wonderful phase I got from Karlfried Graf Durkheim, "transparency to the transcendent." If a deity blocks off transcendency, cuts you short of it by stopping at himself, he turns you into a worshipper and a devotee, and he hasn't opened the mystery of your own being."
All religion should open you to the mystery of your own being and provide transcendence. If it does not, if it stops you at the deity and that deity demands worship, you end up blocking the very thing you are trying to discover. But, if you learn to move past or through the deity then discover the underlying meaning of the myth itself, thus having one of those "ah-ha!" moments, you will not only be much further ahead, but you will bring down the wrath of those who refuse or are unable to get past the issue of worship.
A classic Catch 22, in my humble opinion.

i dont think you could put religion into simple words like that because what my religion believes is that God is bigger than anything. he's not just the creator of the universe, he is the reason we can live freely! so i guess your right in the sense that most religions believe in some higher power. but Christianity is more than just that.

Not all. Some religions are about worshipping something lower, such as the devil or the self. Some are about worshipping nature. Some are about what is ineptly termed "self-actualization." It depends on the religion.

Yes it is. But the devout say its more about morals and feeling good. But you can have all that as an atheist. The only difference between being an atheist and a religious person is that the devout must worship some supernatural being.

No, there are such things as atheistic religions. Buddhism (some forms), Scientology, and Universal Unitarianism are probably the most common atheistic religions.

I cannot say or speak for all religions but the God that I worship and Love and want to please because I do love him just as He loved and Loves me is not about blind obedience of a bunch of man-made rules and restrictions but about adoration and being a part of an awesome FAMILY. MY God is a DADDY God who wants only to love bless and protect me. He wants me to have all the desires of my heart. Lets put this in a really easy way to understand. Start with the 10 commandments. Say you really love someone. Would you want to spend a lot of time with others and put them be for your loved one NO. would you want to tell lies about them? No. Would you want to murder them no. would you want to steal from them. No you see if you love someone it is not a burden to do things for them or help them or spend time with them. GOD LOVES YOU. GOD LOVES ME. I LOVE GOD. It is not a burden to follow the ten commandments. am i perfect?no!!!! Do I always do exactly what God Wants?NO!!!!!! Do I always put GOD before MYSELF? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I try and because I try and I ask forgiveness when I fail. MY GOD FORGIVES AND!!!!! FORGETS.
