I got some crabs from my neighbour last night, I cooked them in boiling water but only for a few minutes. I was told this morning that you are supposed to cook them for 15-20 minutes. I am wondering if the meat is still going to be okay, I have already taken the meat out of the shells, and I am planning on making crab bakes, maybe the meat can continue cooking this way? Any suggestions would be apreciated.

The meat should be fine as long as it was refrigerated. You can try Sauteing the meat in a non-stick skillet or cooking it a short time (1 - 2 minutes) in the microwave, put it in a covered dish so it will not dry out. Then after it cools continue making the crab cakes as usual. I wish I could come for dinner. Yum!

As long as you bake them again, in the crab cakes or whatever you're going to make, they'll be fine.

I eat raw seafood all the time. But not really shellfish. Except oysters. Do they count?

Were they live crabs or frozen? Big difference.
