An “absolute truth” is possible in some areas, such as with respect to determining the shape of the earth (which, mind you, was debated long before any definitive proof was available), but not in the area of religion because the earth is a large mass with very definable properties and something that is a “matter of fact.” All the disbelief in the world won’t change that. But religion is a matter of faith, and that is something we all determine for ourselves…
Is it true that the Creator is not real and definable like the Creation, and that therefore we can shape Him into our own image…and that each one of us can be correct in doing so?

NO! God points out in the Bible who is is. He is pleased to make us have friendship with Him, but it has to be on His terms. We are sinful and without any who can save except God's son, Jesus, since he is both God and man and was willing to lay his life on earth down for us in payment for us...to pay for our sin debt. He paid that we might have life and have it abundantly and forever with Him, not only on this earth, but in a heaven that will not suffer anything or become corrupt. Read the Bible. It has answers for anyone who is a true seeker of truth.

An absolute truth is one that is true regardless of whether or not anyone believes it.
Is it safe to assume that religion isn't based on absolute truth? or that there is no Creator? The fact that the False exists does not disprove the True.
And if there is absolute truth, it is not defined by individuals.

Hi, yes I think ur right, we do try to shape God in our image i.e
we can be cruel therefore God must be,we can be unjust, spiteful, unforgiving, hard hearted etc,etc so therefore God must be like this too.
this is a wounded narrow view based on our experience of how we treat others and how they treat us.
God is spirit, pure and holy and we dare to soil Him with our imperfections, people dont know what they want sometimes,I mean God became man and we can relate to Him as no one else has since the beginning of man`s time on earth and this is scoffed at and hissed and booed.
I sometimes wonder are we ever going to be satisfied this side of eternity.

If God doesnt actually exist, then the nature of religion is purely subjective and we can do whatever we want with the ideas.
But if God does exist (and I know him to) then there is an objective truth to not only religion but morality and many things humans are taking license in. God can be known and he has his own ideas about what is right and wrong, what is good worship, what is unacceptable worship, what is moral and immoral, what is good and evil, and who is going to be saved or not.

No. We can understand him according to our own capacity or lack thereof, but we cannot shape him.
That is, our perception of God does not change God at all.
Our perception of God is just the best we are able to do.
And yet if we seek God and ask him for the ability to know him, we have a much greater chance of coming to be able to perceive him as he is, not as we wish him to be or understand him to be on our own terms/within our own range of ability.
In other words, seeking God himself can provide the seeker with transcendant knowledge of God, which is impossible to get from any other source than the source of all things good.

I personally believe that 'the Creator' is not real. Full stop. We can shape him into whatever we want. Doesn't create an existence.

everyone already does. there are how many sects of christianity in existance today? and how many bibles did they derive from? they claim all bibles are original and the same, yet they all preach differently.
christianity is a religion based on contradiction.
