I drive a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT. Before that, I had two Toyotas. I've had nothing but problems with my Grand Am. My power steering has gone out twice, both of my window motors have gone out, the transmission is having problems, the thermostat has gone out twice...

I'm never buying an American car again.

Other than the problems, the car does drive really well when it works.

this really is a matter of engines and preference while the dodge has had a minor history of climate control and transaxel failure the pontiac must have a v6 to be worth anything at all [the quad 4 and it's single cam sister are both ill-conceived trash heaps that blow head gaskets and eat timing chains, water pumps, and power steering belts and are to be avoided at all costs. the dodge with the 3.0 push rod v6 has adequate power and did not [when abused] break the transaxel the 3.5 ohc engine is solid enough but if the car you are purchasing was young adult driven it was probably abused and also should be avoided both are fairly fun to drive with the dodge being the one of choice for long trips and the pontiac potentially less troublesome

Intrepid. Grand Am is no contender. Grand Prix would be a contender.

But...
I like the 2006 Dodge MegaCab Diesel

the grand am, Dodge intrepids have high repair costs. My friend had a intrepid and it was constantly breaking down.

use kelly blue book side by side comparsion and check there safety records against each other. that always help me decide between cars, sometimes makes me consider completely different cars than what I was considering.

if the intrepid has a 2.7 v-6 run away....these engines are junk....if it has a 3.2 or a 3.5 you are in good shape....the only problem with the 3.2/3.5 is that they like water pumps but if the problem is taken care of they will run forever....i have 2 of them and one has over 200,000 miles and gets 22 mpg
