Hi, im 16, and weigh about 163, and a boy (i dont know if any of that info is relevent for my question, but it cant hurt). Anyway, for school we have push up tests, and i need to be able to do 50 pushups to get an A for a grade. I can do about 20....if i really try! do you think I can get to 50 from training for 1 week? and if so, how?

You can do it! Do a bit more every time, and if you get muscle cramps, try taking some aspirin. but don't stop, getting your muscles moving when you have cramps is the best way to get rid of them.

Probably not.

This doesn't have to do with your age.. it's more about the gap from where you are (20 pushups) and where you want to get to (50) in only 7 days.

Some of this will depend on the time you have to do 50 pushups. If you have multiple hours, then sure you can do it.

The best bet is to start doing pushups throughout the day. If 20 is your current max then start doing sets of 10 pushups.

Do 10, take a break for a while. Do 10 more. Take a break. Keep repeating this. You want to do as many as you can throughout the day but never get completely tired.

Every other day, test how many you can do max. Make sure you rest for a few hours after trying to max out.

increasing strength 250% in any one area in a week is pretty tough but you should be able to do more than 20 by 'greasing the groove' this way.

Also, make sure to eat well -- lots of protein, veggies, some fruit, tons of water. Every little bit will help.

What you could do is... Day 1 20 push ups at least 3 times throughout the day, Day 2 25 push ups 3 times that day, Day 3 30 push ups 3 times, etc. By day six you'll be doing 50. I did this starting out with 10, then adding 10 more every other day. Adding a few each day can really make it easier to get use to. By doing this I was able to go from 10 to easily 130ish is a little over a month.

Yes, it is possible anything is. What you can do is do 5 sets of 20 in between each set you can throw in = amount of sit ups, can't hurt. do this at least once a day and you may surpass your minimum. Do me a favor and don't think about them while you are doing them the more you don't want to do something the worse it is. I know you can do it. Good luck!!!!!

I've answered this once already.... it's too late. You cannot build that much strength and stamina in one week. This is something you should have been working on since the start of school, not the last week of the semester.

Do them every day and add 6 every day until you reach 50.
