When you have a smoothie for a snack (as opposed to
crackers, chips and such) do you feel a psychological
reward, like does it being good for you outweigh that you are
drinking your snack??
Or does it feel less like a snack because you have to
drink it?

***Be VERY careful with smoothies. Most are upwards of 500-600 calories and 20 gms. of fat. Only if they are made with fresh or frozen fruit are they healthy.

I guess there's some good feeling that comes from having something that's "good" for you. But I find that smoothies aren't that filling, maybe because they are liquid? I find that having fruit, like an apple or orange, and maybe a few nuts, which have fiber (the fruit) and protein (the nuts) are more filling and I don't feel hungry as fast.

Personally, I enjoy (and prefer) having a smoothie for a snack. They are good for you, low in calories, and made out of whole, fresh fruit. To me, it doesn't matter if you eat a whole fruit or drink it, as long as you feel full afterward. And if you don't, you can grab a small package of nuts, dried or a fresh fruit, or trail mix to add to your snack.

Most smoothies are sugar bombs, people care far too much about fat and not enough about sugar. Also, since the product is liquid, it will enter the bloodstream faster and increase blood sugar levels faster.
