Of course they've screwed up. More people are dying there now than under Saddam.

I think that the people who fought WWII would be shocked at the coverage this war has received. And what counts as "failure" here.

Any casualties are a tragedy, but we've lost less troops in almost four hears than died before lunchtime on D-Day. Mistakes have been made, but wnat war does not have them? Did the press ask FDR every day to list his mistakes? And make sure the Germans and Japanese were able to pick up an American media that was constantly bashing of our side? I believe hundreds, if not over a thousand, US troops died in a TRAINING MISSION for D-Day!

If America is not willing to fight any wars that are any less quick and painless than the 1991 Gulf War, then we might as well disband the military. Because people will know we can be beaten, easily. Not our military, but our government, and its people.

Don't tell me we would fight if we felt the war is justified. Our enemies don't know which fight we'll think is worth it - they just know we have not gone all-out for decades.

The attitude invites further testing of us. I know it's fashionable to be a "citizen of the world" and "above the fray," but people always seem to come to US (or U.S.) for help, not the UN.

God help us. It's a dangerous world out there. I hope we wise up.

I would not say we have screwed up, I think everyone did and still expects them to act like we do with our same morals and rules.
It just is not gong to happen in a culture where pay offs, and murdering someone is an acceptable way of life.

( or maybe it is like our political people , both parties)

But we send them large amounts of money, and what should we expcet them to do, give it as payoffs and waste it.

We send them trucks full of guns, they will steal and sell some.

This is the way they have done business for 1000 years,

i could no longer talk on behalf of the human beings permitting us to connect, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that being British i've got self belief we does no longer desire to connect the rustic. i take advantage of to have self belief that we had greater in effortless with the rustic then Europe and in many circumstances we do. yet i will by no potential see British human beings permitting comfortable gun regulations, dying penalty and the politics are completely distinctive no longer on my own to point the NHS. 75% of our regulations applied interior the united kingdom each year come from the european. the only those that would create regulations interior the european are the european cost which has no longer been elected via a million citizen in Europe. would human beings like the rustic to be ran like that? no longer a great number of a democracy is it. I accept as true with the above approximately Obama could shop his nostril out asserting we would desire to continually stay interior the european. till he needs to connect Britain and help us with negotiations with the european. Does Obama overlook that thousands and thousands of Europeans and human beings have died in Europe for freedom and democracy.

no, we have not "screwed up badly in Iraq" - we are doing what is needed, we are doing our best, and we are getting the situation under control. nothing in war is fool-proof, we went in for the right reasons (we absolutely did not go in for oil) and we will stay until the situation is resolved. and gee, i'm sitting here in germany right now because we still have bases here too... so there will always be a presense there, that's just the way it works.

I sure can't argue with you there. Now we have to figure out what to do about it. It would sure be easier to find a solution if we all worked together to resolve the problem. If Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives work through it together we might be able to move forward through this. If we don't we are in trouble. Licnoln's words could be well applied today. "A house divided against itself cannot stand".

Hell yeah.

But don't expect any Republicans or conservatives to admit that.

They have a serious aversion to truth.
