The deep south region of the USA, meaning the states of Texas, Alabama, Mississipi, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida. The word dirty refers to corruption in the legal system, the oppression, the dirty secrets people keep about the dirty things they do to make a living like lying, thugging and stealing and ofcourse jim crow.

Multiple reasons......First the "illegal practices of the slave trade" and the "ways they were used to work the fields" also this area relied so much on the cotton crops and such that many people were "dirty" from working their lands too....over time the deceptive smooth talking of Southern Lawyers also gained the title that has long been associated with this profession anyways!!
