My son is tall for his age, but also quite stocky. I am finding it very hard to get school trousers for him. I dont mind taking up the leg, but when I do this, they are too big around the crotch area. Sturdy fit dont fit him properly. Any advices? I have tried Huskys, but he really needs to try them on first. Thanks.

Forgot to say, he is only six, so adult clothes are not an option.

Our son is 7 and wears about a 8-10 huskey they also make them where the waist is expandable i think they make them in the wal-mart brand. Also try jcpennys and herbergers. They usually have really good clothes for boys like ours!!! Its really hard to get things to fit, we are in that same position. I try a 8 huskey and i put a belt on them when they are too big on the waist, and if they are too long, Just hem them :) GOODLUCK!

Have you tried adult/teenager sized supermarket clothing? They often have a really wide range of sizes. So do M&S and BHS sometimes if you don't mind spending a bit more. Not sure if it's be worth trying badly taloryed womens trousers - can be long without being wide. My partners a 6" 6' twig, so I feel your pain.

Have you tried American clothing sites for Kids/teens?
They are great at catering for all sizes.

have the entire piece altered by a seemstress, unless you're a professional....I'm not a big sew-er(?) but I've had things altered.

JC Penney's sells plus sized children's clothing. We have to buy them for my stepdaughter.
