"take care of it" before the $75 fine doubled to $150. I was pulled over again today because I hadn't yet renewed, thinking I had sixty days. The officer today wrote the ticket for $150 because "I obviously decided not to cooperate with the terms of the half-price ticket diversion program." When I explained that I still had 28 days to cooperate, he asked me to point it out to him, said "I can't see that without my glasses" and basically told me that anyone could pull me over as many times as they wanted until I renewed the registration, even if I already received a ticket for it. Is there anything I can do? I'm tempted to request a court date, but I don't know if there is really any case. And to the a-hole who responded earlier with the obvious (renew the registration), I already have. I appreciate info. from anyone with any experiences or advice to offer.

No offense but how hard is it to go to the DMV or even to a currency exchange to get a new registration sticker. Nobody to blame but yourself on this one.

They sure can cite you as many times as they see you, until the registration is current.
It doesn't matter if you 'just got a ticket for that', you would be in violation of your motor vehicle code and therefore liable to be summonsed into court.

I would definitely take it to court.
A calm, logical explanation to the judge might get all but the first citation voided. If not, you will have to pay the fines and a court fee, but it's worth a try. You will have to pay the fines anyway, no?

take it to court and maybe the cop will not be there also bring up how you were treated and about how the cop needs glasses. he was right they can keep stopping you about it and cite you. request of the cop does show up that the ticket be reduced as you were at fault, but wanted the time to take care of it. also send in a complaint about the cop's conduct and it will score him a bad point on his record. and make a point of him needing glasses so he can do what we pay him to do properly. we don't need more dumbass cops out there. we have enought
