Leukocytes are white blood cells that combat infection by ingesting substances. They act like scavengers within the body. It is not abnormal to have a few show up in a urinalysis but if there are many it is indicative of an infection somewhere in the urinary tract and bacteria should have been seen in the sample also...

leukocytes are white bloods cells, usually only seen in urine when there is an infection somewhere in the urinary tract.
