yes when you are saved then you should strive to be more like him. christian means little christ. BUT we will slip and we will stray he know this. we are human its in our nature. i do strive to be like him, but if i dont, and if i mess up my salvation is not going to go away. the bible tells us that it is by grace we are saved. nothing else. am i wrong?

also, being saved does not mean tht you dont repent. when i, you pray we need to ask for forguvness because we do sin, allt he time sometimes without even knowing it untill later. so yes we all must ask for forgivness, but that "being saved" does not go away just because we have sinned

once saved, always saved, to me, means that you accept jesus, but then if you go kill someone, you can still go to heaven. mormons believe that everyone makes mistakes, and through repentance, you are saved. you have to repent when you make a mistake. and we're not nazis.

If you believe that just because you accept Jesus as your Savior and Redeemer that you are automatically saved, that's called being saved by grace. The LDS Church doesn't believe that we are saved by grace alone, but through our own efforts as well. We cannot be saved simply because we have a testimony of Christ, we must continually strive to better ourselve, make less mistakes, obey all the commandments, live the spirit of the law as well as the letter of the law, and repent for all that we have done wrong. This is a life-long process, not aquired in an instant then just put on the back burner. We do believe that we can only be saved through the atonement of Jesus Christ, but we cannot expect Him to have atoned for us, gone through all that pain and heartache, then just automatically get into heaven. Instead we strive to become more like Him, perfect. I guess that I personally don't think I will have been saved completely until I am dead because then I will no longer be fighting all the tempations of Satan. Do not misunderstand me, salvation is through Christ, but He expects us to try too.

No, we do not believe that. We believe partaking of the blessing of the atonement includes repentance, not just "well Jesus died for me and I believe in him so I am OK."
Since we sin every day, we must need to repent often.
It is interesting that you say "once saved always saved is what the bible teaches"....that is just the way you interpret it....we as LDS interpret it differently.

Mark 1:15
15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Doesn't say "repent once and you're done"

I could list, list, list verses talking of repentance in the bible but why waste my time when we obvisouly interpret it differently.

In gentle of the scriptures you quoted, how do you provide an explanation for the myth of the prodigal son in Luke Chapter 15? As for the grafting in of the Gentiles, that has to do with the Gentiles who feel and comply with Jesus Christ fitting followed into the loved ones of God of which God selected the Jewish humans. Therefore, Gentiles might no longer be Jewish except they're grafted into the basis that is Jesus Christ (a Jew). Another phrase for the grafting in is adoption.

All will receive immortality as a result of the Atonement. To receive eternal life, we must endure to the end. As Paul writes in Hebrews 12:

7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

Mormons don't believe that salvation is for this life. Most of the cults believe in works salvation. Mormons put and int resting spin on it... They are saved by grace AFTER everything they can DO.. I you are counting on your own efforts to achieve salvation they have no way of knowing if they have done enough.... Jim
