I am not sure what your asking...Though the earth is that old....what we would recognize as humanoid and even modern man is roughly three million years old. Modern Man based in agriculture allowing for specialization in labor and development of arts and sciences has only been around for ten thousand years....so no...I am not surprised there is not more technology. I do agree the government may be hiding much in the way of advanced technology.

You touch on a remarkable point. But we people have not been here that long, just the planet. People are only here the smallest fraction of that time. For millions and millions of years it was only frogs and stuff. Now, as you said, in 500 years, which is five minutes, geological time, we have gone from virtually primitive people to jet aircraft, nuclear weapons and genetic engineering. It is called an exponential progress, and many people worry that our toys and tools are developing FAR faster than our wisdom to understand all their implications.

There may have been some technology previous to the flood that was lost. Man lived nearly 1000 years. One can learn a lot in that amount of time. Adam was created fully adult and his brain was fully programmed-think about it. Primitive people did thing that still baffle scientist today.
We don't know that the earth is 4.6 byo. That age is based on speculation with no way to test it. It is just a fantasy.

We're not behind. We are the result of everything that has come before and our hopes for what will come. No period has been without at least some progress, though some ages have been dominated by ignorance that dragged progress to a halt--even backward.
