you won't like this and will probably crumble like a house of cards, but here's the solution: let her scream and cry herself to sleep. It might take a few days to work, but it will happen. the other solution is, you can allow her to run your life, while you take orders from a three year old with a bad attitude. of course, she'll call the shots from that point on, but hopefully you'll fare better with her kids when she starts having them at 13.

I'm not sure what you have already tried, but I can give you a couple of suggestions. You can try establishing a sleeping ritual in which mom or dad always takes her to her room, reads to her or something that takes a little time, and agrees to stay with her to a certain time every night (like the end of a story or a video if she has a TV). You have to be clear that you will leave at a certain time whether she is asleep or not. Sometimes they will learn to fall asleep while you are still there, alleviating the problem. If she is doing this because she is scared or because of nightmares or something, it may only be temporary and it might be best to just let her get through the phase. I would not allow her to be bossy and make the rules though. If she shows attitude and goes into your room, talk to her and then put her back in her room, even if you have to carry her. If you do this enough times she will realize you are serious. The hardest part is always following through with it.

Hi
Go to her room and tell her that you want to spend some moments with her ask her to show you her favorite toys dont let her feel that she is going to sleep alone in her room
sit together in her bed, you Dad in her right and you Mom in her left .Take a tale book and read a story with your soft voice not all the story , Dad in her right and Mom in her left until you feel that she is in a deep sleep, then let the light on and leave the room quietly .The door must stay open .
Repeat this each night .Remember that she is a baby .
Good luck

lock the door. no that would be wrong. you need to disapline your daughter. if you don't go tobed and go to sleep you will not be able to ... and then follow through with it. She is testing her boundries

It's a simple contest of wills - she wants one thing and you want something else. Who's gonna win?
