I went out to lunch with a guy I was set up with by a mutual friend. We got along really well and made plans to get together this weekend. I ws told by this mutual friend that the guy seemd to have a lot of really good things to say about me and was pretty excited about getting together this weeknd. I'm not a typical dater so I don't know how games and such work with this, let's just get that out of the way. When he e mails me, it's boring, short emails..not "how are you?" or, "looking forward to this weekend" or anything. Is this beacuse guys don't want to seem desperate? I mean, I know we've only hung out once and all, but he just doesn't seem that into communication. Is this typical? Like I said, I'm new to this dating thing...I've had a BF for the last 5 years and now that I'm ready to date, I don't know what I'm doing! Does this sound normal so far? Guys?

A lot of guys only write short boring emails. Could be that or it could be that he doesn't want to look desperate.

He may be one of those that have a hard time coming up with anything to send in an e-mail. If yu like him in person understand that some guys do not communicate well in letters or e-mail. Stop thinking of games and be yourself Good Luck

I'm the same way when it comes to emails. I just can't write and write like some people. It's not a bad thing.
I actually have the same thing happening to me now with a woman. I can't get her to write much, but I'm not going to hold that against her.
I think you are on the right track. Just be careful.

Everyone is different. Don't judge him by the style of his emails. Take it slow and get to know him before getting too involved.
