Go to start and look for run type in msconfig and hit OK then a new window will open click start up.UN check all the things you do not wish to load at start up and this also helps with computer booting up faster. But anything that says system other than the volume leave those checked. but stuff like yahoo ,msn things you download your self UN check them and hit apply and restart your PC Good Luck

You need to close the running process. You can do this manually by pressing Alt+Ctrl+Delete to bring up the Task Manager, then go to the Processes tab , select the process (most likely it will end in tray) and hit End Process. However it will keep popping up every time you restart your computer.
Get Startup Inspector for Windows:

And disable the item. Then right click and select remove disabled.

right click the taskbar, choose 'Properties'

near the bottom of the that little window are the options for the icons.
you can just check "hide inactive icons" to hide them when they're inactive, or you can click on "customize" and you can set the options (always hide, always show, etc) for each icon.
