Does anybody have any idea how long it takes after being caught driving over the speed limit before a notice of fine and penalty points is posted out???

when i was caught it took about 3 weeks but I'm sure it differs depending on how busy or lazy they are?

This year, one of my friends 8 weeks and the other 12weeks. Those fines were both in Dublin (one in Ballymum- speed limit is 50Km there now) and the other was swords so both North Dublin.

I'm not preaching to you but this week in Newry two men were killed in a collision because at least one of the vehicles was being driven too fast. I drive for a living and I realise that vehicles are dangerous weapons when driven too fast.

14 days to issue a NIP (Notification of Intended Prosecution) . No notice in 14 days no fine or points :)

Depends how long it is before the only Irishman who can write gets round to you!

I think that they have up to six months to issue you with the fine!
