Yes, you are right. And, it was on Mt. Moriah. This is where the Temple was later built. It was all the same place. The rock Abraham put his son on is the rock in the now present Dome of the Rock.

Interesting question---------and an unusual one! That is nice.

This will also answer your other posted question which is essentially the same.

Before G-d designated the temple mount as being the place to offer sacrifices and to perform the temple service there was no designated place. To be more precise, before the temple there was a designated place of the Tabernacle. Before then, there was no designated place. That being the case, one was allowed to offer sacrifices anywhere.
The specific Hebrew term for the altars used in these circumstances was "Bamah".
Thus Abraham would be allowed to offer a sacrifice.
For the record, according to Jewish tradition this was the site of the future temple.

Also, to correct a misconception in your other question, not all sacrifices were for the purpose of atonement. Also, Abraham's sacrifice was not to secure atonement.

Over the years, the Levitical priesthood and the various temple services gradually built up a Jewish religious tradition centered solely on the Jerusalem Temple.

Once God's spirit dwelled in the desert tabernacle.

Then God's spirit dwelled in Solomon's Temple.

Later, God's spirit dwelled in Herod's Temple.

But ever since the death of Christ, not only was the Temple left desolate, it was later destroyed.

For some strange reason, the traditions of the Jews prevent them from making sacrifices anywhere else, while the Muslim presence on the Temple Mount, makes it impossible to rebuild the Temple there.

the thought of sacrificing animals to a mythological figure is sick and disgusting in my book. It's an impertinent question about what silly men thought eon's ago. Just another example of how ridiculous it is to believe that just because something was written down a few thousand years ago, doesn't make it the word of an omnipotent being. Especially if the omnipotent being is a lousy writer. God was no Shakespeare.
