I just have a HUGE problem with all these meds these days.
I believe that there is a time and place for them, but only temporary because all they do is COVER UP THE PROBLEM. You need some really good counseling to FIND AND KILL THE ROOT PROBLEM!
Meanwhile..... tell Satan to hit the trail!!!!!!!! Dont listen to him!

First of all- you are not going insane!
Okay, so you have ADD and are on a prescription. Like any other medication, there are side effects. But usually, the doctor who prescribed the pills may think the benefits of it outweighs the risks of side effects. If you dont like how the pills are making you feel, you should talk to your doctor. There may be a different dosage or different brand that you may react better to. Also, there is the possibility of behavioural counselling. Some people prefer (and respond better) to learning new adaptive behaviours instead of medication. My favourite example is called the "fidget-widget" which is some beads on a leather strap. It helps students to focus in a typical classroom setting because they can constantly be moving and it will not interrupt other students.
Most importantly, if you ever have suicidal thoughts you should stop whatever you are doing and get some help! If you are in Canada I suggest calling the Kids Help Phone (1-800-668-6868) and speak to one of the counsellors. They will not ask for you name or anything that will identify you. Or, go to your nearest emergency room. Its important that you deal with those thoughts immediately.
But, getting back to your question, if those pills aren't making you feel right- go to your doctor and try something else because it may be a side effect!
Good luck!

check with your doctor , there are several medications out there who have this for a side effect but then there are some which you would get help from without this. You are not going insane. My son had to go through several meds before we found what worked for him.

Try pycnogenol 100-200 mg daily. Some people also have gotten good results from drinking MonaVie juice.
Contact me for info. Sleeping on a magnet pillow or mattress pad has done good for some in a small study.

kings child is right. did you try anything else before you jumped right into medication? Like for startes, cutting out caffine & food w/ Red Dye out of your diet?
Call you doctor about the suicide and research some alternative options for ADD on your own.

Definitely contact your doctor. NOW. This is not normal. Your doctor should be able to switch your meds to something that will be more helpful.
