I am for absolute freedom of expression in art. Art of all professions sees no bounds in its expressions and emotions. I feel for Hussain, I’m sure he’s received his share of criticism and threats.

I feel for Hussein especially because he hails from my place. The present storm brewing against him is the creation of some of our Hindu chauvinists. The prudish idea that nudity is something to be abhorred is not native to Hinduism. In fact, Lord Krishna ,especially his childhood, has always been painted a nude.Even Surdas the noted blind devotee of the Lord did not think anything untoward in it.Somebody has aptly remarked'Nudity like beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder." A deceased eyesight will always see everything askewed.Thing is that his being a Muslim goes against him.How could a Muslim paid Hindu gods and then them in the nude.! Poor fellow some of his best artwork exhibited have been destroyed and he has to remain away from India fearing repurcussions.
