smoke? Because my child yesterday went trick-or-treating and got a bunch of candy sticks and pretends shes smoking they dont really taste good to me though but its not the only child whos doing it alot of children doing it

I agree that it leads to smoking. In our household they are tossed in the garbage right away.

Seeing people smoke encourages children to view it as appealing. Children will copy everything people do even parents smoking. My children have never been around people who smoke so if they were handed those candy sticks, they would just think they are sticks made of candy, not cigarettes. They wouldn't pretend to smoke with them because they aren't around to see smoking. Thank God.

All of us kids growing up had those. I have 5 other sibilings and only one ended up smoking and I think it was more peer pressure in highschool then candy ciggerates.
I think parents are overly paranoid and candy ciggs aren't going to cause them to smoke. Educating your children about smoking is the the most important thing a parent can do...Although as a parent I do find the thought of candy ciggs repulsive! I can't believe people were handing them out for Halloween!

No, I always used to eat candy sticks and i have never thought about smoking and i never will!!!!

I grew up in the era of candy cigarettes and bubble gum cigars and I never smoked

was it those cigarettes candies i though they stop making them .but no kids imitate what they see from other peoples either you smoke around your kids are someone else in your family is doing this .

I played with candy cigarettes and gum cigars and I don't smoke.

NO - they are just acting out. Only a pear can 'encourage' your child.
