Yes, this is because it uses the most energy to heat the water up , if you leave it on constant its cheaper because its not heating water up from cold but just keeping it at a constant temp. hope this helps

Unless the insulation on the tank is very efficient and the hot water is needed frequently it is more economical to switch the immersion heater off. This is because the hot water will lose heat quickly and over a period of a few hours will lose the amount of heat equal to that needed to heat it up from cold. If the hot water isn't being used throughout the night (say 8 hours) turn off the immersion off.

swap it off mutually as away. while domicile swap it on for 2 classes on a daily basis. Morning for about an hour and night for an identical. Mine comes on, by skill of time swap, at 6am as i'm on financial equipment 7 which components me potential at around 5pence in line with KW/hour until now 7am. in case you go away it on all day the heater will circulate on and rancid all day because it makes up for the status warmth losses that ensue from the tank and the localised pipework. Even on a properly lagged tank, those warmth losses can mount up for the duration of an afternoon and on your quarterly bill can upload an significant quantity. in the journey that your no longer on econ7 then you definately are paying around sixteen to 20 pence in line with KW/hr. delight in some time away.

Hi >
I assume from your cryptogram that we are fellow Librans.
Boilers - yup leave the things on, with the thermostat set to whatever you need. It will energy save.
Same as leaving light bulbs on. Switching them on and off left right & centre knackers the bulb, as it cools down, then thrust back into a heated situation.
Leave the things on, and we will have less waste products.

Potentially if you are always using all the hot water, however if you only run out every now and again you'll save more by only using it when you need it
