If he's being sarcastic, tell him "Thanks. You're ugly too."
If he's being truthful, just a simple "Thank you" is fine.

Thank you always works well.........some people look beyond what your face or body looks like and see a beautiful person. Haven't you ever been somewhere and someone walks in the room and you can just tell by their presence that they are a beautiful person and it has nothing to do with what he or she looks like, what he/she is wearing.....they just exude beauty? I know that has happened numerous times and I feel compelled to tell them what a beautiful person I think they are. Take pride in that, this person might not have been complimenting your outward appearance but your inner self. Even if this person was commenting on your appearance, still say "thank you". This person may see something you don't. Do yourself a favor right now, go to the mirror and take a good long look at yourself. Really look hard, not at the blemishes on your face, but look at yourself, your person and try to see what this person saw, what compelled this stranger to compliment you? Once you can see it you'll realize that you are beautiful, acne or not.

You will say thank you for the compliment. I'm pretty sure you are beautiful and a face full of acne doesn't take your beauty away from you. Don't let that put you down!

relies upon on the context. If something in basic terms got here approximately to me or I advised them i circulate by a coarse time, and their reaction is "i'm going to desire for you", I generally thank them. they're exhibiting their difficulty, and it is going to be favourite. yet while they're saying it because of the fact, say, I advised them that i'm an atheist, or because of the fact I advised them that I play D&D, then it relatively is in basic terms condescending and that i will in all probability in basic terms roll my eyes.

I would say Thank You, the thing about having acne is you notice more than other people, and it is when people stop talking to you, that is a bad sign, everybody likes to be complemented, it is good for ones' self esteem.

Tell him not to be so condescending and patronising. You have bad skin what is the point in lying about it. It will be fine in a year or so and you will be nicer looking.
As he is a stranger he quite clearly doesn't know you well enough to be talking about inner beauty.

take compliments gracefully. Your acne is probably not as bad as you think.
