definitely if you are a good chef you can easily find a job in ny especially in nyc where there is a lot of different kind of restaurant but the bad thing is that you don't have papers and with the after effect of 9/11 immigration enforcers are very strict nowadays and they can easily catch you and your employer can be fine heavily, another thing is that you can get a job wherein you can change your tourist visa into a diplomatic visa by applying to work with some consulate or international organization where most of them are located in nyc because of the united nations or better yet you can apply a job at the united nations and have your visa change into a diplomat status, i don't know too much about the nitty-gritty of things but i know a lot of my tourist friends who got their visa change into diplomatic status by getting a job in some of the international organiztions located here in nyc.

Deportation.

If you are picked up - which can happen any time - you can be summarily imprisoned for several months without trial, and finally deported. After you are deported, you cannot re-enter for up to ten years. If you go back and get caught again, you will be barred for life.

You'll get deported. And in your case because you are from the UK, it probably won't happen. Good luck.
