Three days ago my tooth chipped while eating on the outside. Since the it has felt weird but today i noticed some swelling? I cannot see a dentist till next week anyone have any info on what this might be. It hurts my tooth when i touch the swelling. Can it be a tooth absense?

i dn know how bad ur tooth is chipped...ur tooth might be badly broken..there might be certain leakage down 2 ur periodontal ligament.an infection had lead its way there and that what caused the swelling...there might be certain mobility 2...u should c a doctor asap..4 the moment take any kind of analgesic 4 the pain..u can take antibiotic but the swelling will nt totally disappear ,u have 2 remove the cause.gd luck

It sounds like it abscessed. The only thing to worry about with the infection is that it can spread to other teeth and to the sinuses. The sooner you can get it checked out the better. You wouldn't want to have 1 filling turn into multiple root canals.
