You could give him a lick or two, but toss the rest. It is too much sugar, and dogs don't metabolize sugar the same as we do..If it is a small breed, the amount of sugar in a lollipop is enough to cause a hypoglycemic episode (fainting from imbalanced blood sugar)which can be very dangerous..

Licking Lollipop

Puppies and toddlers and a very dangerous combination. The child can pull a tail or step on a foot, the puppy nips to stop the pain and gets blamed for biting the kid. I would keep the two apart except under very strict supervision. My biggest concern about the puppy liking the child is that the child might do something to hurt the puppy and get bitten in the face. Dogs mouths are actually cleaner than human mouths.

Hi offering candy & sugar stuff is not harmful as just a one off thing but these sorts of things are better not given at all as we all know what sugars do to the teeth...no it's not going to be hyper but do you really want to set the dog off wanting sugary things?
Keep to dog treats that are specially made with dogs in mind if you are wanting to give treats...Regards Jake

Yeah... you can let them lick it, but I don't suggest feeding it the whole thing and I definately don't suggest that you eat it or lick after they have. Ewww. One or two licks isn't going to hurt them but feeding them the whole thing could possibly make them sick.

Its fine. Just a few. Sugar is not good for dogs. But as a rare occasion, its okay. I doubt any more hyper than your dogs is already.

Sure you can let it have a little but I would not give your puppy have the whole thing.

Don't let her eat it....I mean if you're really close to her you can have her have a lick while you're eating it....but I don't know that's kinda gross....so no don't let her eat it she can get sick...I think

NO please no. It won't kill your pup but it could lead to very serious health problems. Dogs do suffer from diabetes as well. Too mch sugar could cause you to have to give him/her pills for the rest for it's life to control her blood sugar.
