Yes, this is becoming more and more common.

There are 3 things that might help you...
1) IF you have impaired neutrophil function (not all that common), you could try taking Vitamin C, 1 gram a day for 4-6 weeks. If this stops the recurrent infections, then there you go...

2) Most likely you are a carrier of Staph Aureus (a common bacteria)...and it is living in your nose. You doctor can swab your nose to see if this is true. If so, you can put a topical antibiotic ointment (called mupirocin, or Bactroban) in your nose twice a day for a week to get rid of it. This antibiotic ointment is only available with a prescription, and other antibiotic ointments over the counter will not work.

3) You could ask your doctor to go on preventative oral antibiotics, such as 1 pill of clindamycin (150mg) a day.

Talk to your doctor about all of these options...
