I would attempt Chinese, "Mandarin" (It is the one main Formal one.)

With all businesses taking their factories to the Orient knowing Chinese & the customs are important.

I also live in So. Cal and Spanglish is spoken everywhere. I've even heard some Asian thrown in. I wonder what our language is going to be in 20 years?!

That depends on where you want to live. As I child I lived in upstate Vermont and learned French. That doesn't do me much good now that I live in San Diego.
