the cat just isnt used to the new box, if u have the old box laying around, id put the old litter in it, he will smell his scent and go in it, and to be honest if u have the old box laying around and there is still poop in it, id throw that in there as well

Does it have a lid on it? I had a cat who wouldn't use a litter box if it had a lid. Did you also change litter? Some cats are just picky.Try putting the old litter box back if you can and see if that works. If not call your vet.

I would recomend calling the vet first because they will have some questions (ie: has he been eating, drinking, lathargic). Also when you got the new litter box did you change the type of litter? It could be possible that it found a dark area to relieve itself, is there any stinky somewhere?

Your cat is going to the bathroom, just not in the litter box. Look around your house-particularly in your laundry...

You changed his box so now he doesn't want to use this new one. Call the vet and ask what you can do to get him to use the new one. I'm sure that's what the problem is.

i would call the vet, but i would also check around the house to make sure he's not just doing his business elsewhere. did you change the type of litter you used? this may have upset him.
