It's hard not to be a couch potato, I know this first hand. BUT there is hope! If you have a dog, get up, walk the dog. You don't have to walk a mile or anything, but even a few steps help. Try trigger words, to help re-train your brain. (Example): I need to walk & try repeating them to yourself all through out the day. Then when it pops into your mind, get up right then & go do something, preferrably outside if possible. The Fall & Winter months are especially hard for some people to get active & stay active. There's not as much daylight & sleep seems to enter my vocabulary a whole lot. You have to be more determined than your body during these times, & doing simple things will help you over come the couch potato syndrome. If you have a friend that lives near by, walk to their house. See if maybe they'd walk with you. Go to a park & walk around the park. Take in the scenery it's marvelous this time of year. If you like to garden, plant some plants or pull a few weeds. Turn on some music & dance in your living room until you can't dance anymore. The starting is usually the hardest part, but after about a week or so of doing this, forcing yourself to get off the couch, then it just becomes natural & you'll want to find more things to do that don't involve sitting on the couch all day :) What helped me is that I know if I don't get my weight off, start eating healthier, & start moving... I'll not experience my life to its fullest. There's so much that I want to do, & I'm not going to let anything stop me. You only have 1 chance at life... make the most of it every single day... & make every day count!

It's surprising how fast you can do this if you really want to. All you have to do is get on a good pair of walking shoes, do a few easy warm-up stretches, and go out in adequate clothing and walk a block or so from your home and then back. Then, because you didn't overdo the first time, you stay at that level of exercise (sorry for the rotten word!) for a few days until you feel you want to go a bit further, and it will be no time until you are no longer a couch potato and are looking forward to getting out into the open air and seeing and hearing the world around you. Be sure to do some gentle stretching when you start out each day, of course. NEVER do any "bouncing" types of stretches, as these can harm your muscles. And, if you find yourself getting sore, soak in warm-to-hot Epson salts water (read the simple directions on the box) and then gently ice down (no more than 15 minutes, alternating with moist heat). If you give yourself enough time at this process, you'll find you're gradually losing weight and you're feeling a lot better!

Sign up to a gym,
by signing up and paying as low as 30-40 dollars a month you wont want to just waste your money so youll be determined to go.
What you do want to waste is the chips! thrwo the junk out ! its not doing anything good but hurting you and your selfesteem.

take it step at a time, try new things, dancing? or whatever you like to do .. if you do watch a lot a tv, get an excersize machine and workout and watch :)

get active and get involved and that lazy person will no longer exist! GOOD LUCK.

Cancel your cable t.v. subscription. When you have only 2 1/2 channels to choose from, you might be less tempted to watch them.
Then start calling your friends to hang out, and when they call you ACCEPT their invitation (whether you want to or not). Get in the habit of always saying "yes" to doing things, then follow through.

either get rid of your tv or get rid of your couch and put a elliptical machine in front of your tv...oh, and try getting rid of cable...the lack of channels may disinterest you.
