she HATED gilbert blythe for the simple reason that she heard him make fun of her red hair.....!! hahah... at the end of the book, she realized she actually loved him! :) heehee
i think sometimes u end up hating someone cuz u actually see a lot of YOURSELF in them... later when u look at them from a different point of view, or u understand more about their situation, u can see past the judgements and bias and see a true person. :) ALWAYS try to be open minded, so u don't close the opportunities of meeting a great person in ur life

This brings to mind the saying that in order to truly, truly hate someone you have to love them first. Figure out if he has more to love about him or more to hate about him and go from there. If he is verbally abusive to you and to others though then let him go and find someone nice.

depends on whether you really couldnt stand him, or just tried to make yourself think that. there is also something called the hostage syndrome, where the captives bond with the captors. So, yes, i guess anything is possible.
