an arabic speaker who knows the koran recently wrote here that muslims are instructed to lie to non muslims any time it furthers the interests of the muslim community. I have seen this stated before as being in the koran. Doesn't this make it almost impossible for non muslims to beleive anything muslims say about trying to get along, etc.? If not, why not?

I'm told that Surah 5:89, Surah 16:106 and several hadith justify lying to unbelievers.

I gather that it is indeed true that the koran forbids lying but that that rule applies only to fellow muslims not to infidels.

Sura.5:51 disdains the Jews. Mohammed said, “The last hour will not come before the Muslims fight the Jews, and the Muslims kill them.” (Mishkat Al Masabih Sh.M. Ashraf pp.147, 721, 810-11, 1130).

Islam divides the world into dar al-Islam (the house of peace) and dar al-Harb (the house of war). To bring "peace," Allah commands, "I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads! (8:13); Slay the idolaters wherever you find them...(9:5); O Prophet, struggle with the unbelievers and hypocrites and be thou harsh with them...(9:73); Believers, make war on the infidels that dwell around you..." (9:123). Perpetual jihad is commanded until all the world is under sharia. Nor would that bring peace, because Muslims fight among themselves, as history testifies.

I see Poki Poki, says: "Show me a verse that tells muslims to lie".

When allah casts terrors in their hearts of nonmuslim, what is this? Terror is what? LIES.

Lying to a group of non-Muslims is allowed only when they are fighting against Muslims. It is also recommended. But not in other cases.

Also, did you know that it is a major sin for Muslims to tell lies about Islam?

You're talking about ONE PERSON! You can generalize about all Muslims based on that? Where's your source? And you're speaking as if Christians NEVER lie! Get a clue.

People lie to one another, a Muslim can lie to a Christian or even a Muslim and Christian too can lie to a Muslim and also to a Christian.

Religion just increases the hatred between different people from different religions.
