I don't know about you, but when i get headaches, i try a couple of things:
1. Take some aspirin (not all the time though)
2. Hot Bath in the Dark (kinda settles my mind as my senses get relieved)
3. Sweat it out.
I don't walk, which i find makes matters worse, i try to keep my senses dampened and calm down.
I've found that headaches are brought on by dehydration, so a walk would be one of the worse things you could do.

Headaches are caused by a constricting of the blood vessels.
I would assume that any activity that causes your heart to pump faster would help to push blood through these constricted vessels and eventually causeing them to open gradually and thereby lessening your headache.
I will try to think of this the next time I get a headache because sometimes medication doesn't work too well. . . maybe walking will and when my head hurts that bad I am willing to do whatever it takes to lessen my pain.

Think about the different position of your head when walking. It takes a lot of stress of the back of the neck. Where your problem originates. Check the base of the skull by applying pressure and you will understand what I mean.

I'd imagine it's because it gets the blood flowing and allows you to relieve stress.

I don't know - but it does.
I belong to the LDWA (the Long Distance Walkers Association) in England.
Walkers rarely get headaches.
maybe because it keeps you mentally fit?
